A Step-by-Step Guide to 
The 2017 Grand List, Grievances & Property Tax Bills

Due to the two-year, town-wide reappraisal, the 2017 preliminary Grand List posting has been moved  to July 10, 2017.
Please check your mailbox for a publication listing ALL the new Middlesex reassessments after that.
Also, check here because we will post the 2017 Grand List online and in Town Hall.
PRE-GRIEVANCE HEARINGS (general questions, clarifications, etc. These do NOT count as formal grievance hearings) will be held at the following times: July 14 (Noon – 6 p.m.), July 15 (8 a.m. – 3 p.m.), July 20 (Noon – 6 p.m.), July 21 (Noon – 6 p.m.) and July 22 (8 a.m. to 3 p.m.)
GRIEVANCE HEARINGS will be held by appointment. If you wish to grieve (challenge) your reassessed value, you must request a meeting with the Listers IN WRITING before 8 p.m. July 27, 2017 . Grievance hearings will be held in Town Hall during the following times: July 25  (8 a.m. –  Noon & 1 – 3 p.m.), July 26 (11 a.m. – 4 p.m. & 5:30 p.m. – 8 p.m.) and July 27 (11 a.m. – 4 p.m. & 5:30 p.m. – 8 p.m.)

Tax Bills will be mailed August 3rd or 4th

Taxes paid IN FULL within 30 days of the date on the 2017 Property Tax Bill receive a 1% discount. Otherwise…

The 1st half of the 2017 Middlesex Property Taxes will be due September 20, 2017.

The Middlesex Food Shelf is open every Saturday from 9:00 – 10:30 am at the Middlesex United Methodist Church, which is located across the street from Town Hall.

  • Food donations can be made in the lobby of the Rumney School or at the food shelf (on Church Street) during its open hours on Saturdays.

  • Cash donations may be made at the Town Clerk’s office (Monday-Thursday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM).

    Please note that online payments are subject to additional fees:

    ~Electronic checks (eCheck) cost $1.50.

    AUTOMATIC ACH WITHDRAWL

    The Town of Middlesex can issue an electronic withdrawal from either your checking or savings account from any
    Bank in the United States and apply it to your installment tax bill on the day it is due (Sept. 15 & Feb. 15). This convenient service can assure that you will avoid late fees from missed payments while keeping your money in your account until the last possible day. Call the Clerk's office and we will send you the form (802-223-5915).
