MIDDLESEX PLANNING COMMISSION
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

The Middlesex Planning Commission will hold a public hearing at 6:30 PM, on Wednesday,
April 16, 2025, at Middlesex Town Hall and by Zoom to seek comments on the Commission’s
March 2025 Proposed Changes to the Middlesex Land Use and Development Regulations and
Zoning District Map. This notice is issued pursuant to 24 VSA §§ 4441(d) and 4444.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
The proposed changes were made to expand the Mixed Use District to encompass what is
currently an Industrial District on the west side of town. The change will allow this area to
accommodate additional housing and some limited additional commercial and accessory uses.
The standards for the Mixed Use District will add a requirement that all non-residential
buildings be a minimum of 2 stories high to allow more dense development and space for
offices and/or housing uses. The proposed changes were made to conform with and further the
goals and policies contained in the Middlesex Town Plan including housing, economic
development and community land use goals.

GEOGRAPHIC AREAS AFFECTED
The area encompassed by the current Mixed Use District north of the I-89 Exit 9 Interchange,
and the Industrial District south of the Interchange and west of Middlesex Village.
